·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ Hill High School Names Football Coach

On March 14, 2024 ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ Hill High School announced Randy Birch as head coach of the Bearcats football team.

Birch has spent the last 11 football seasons as part of the Gaffney High School team as a defensive coordinator. During his time with Gaffney, the team achieved the No.1 ranking in the region for defensive points allowed for five seasons. He served as defensive coordinator for the 2021 5A State Championship team.

“Coach Birch has a proven track record of coaching toward success both on and off the field,” said Jimmy Duncan, ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ Hill Schools Athletic Director. “We are excited to welcome him to ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ Hill Schools and the Bearcat family.”

Birch also spent three seasons in Lawndale, North Carolina with Burns High School where the team won back-to-back state championships. Additionally, he coached the defensive line for one year in Flat ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ, North Carolina.

Birch played college football at Western Carolina University where he also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He also earned a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from the American College of Education.
