Clinetta Allen was born in Louisville, KY. She went to the University of Akron, where she got her Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and her Associates in American Sign Language Interpreting and Transliterating. She also pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc in 1990. After graduation, she moved to Charlotte, NC where she resides now. She has been teaching for 25 years.

While teaching in the public school system, Clinetta noticed the lack of civility in the classroom. In 2014, Clinetta graduated from the American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Ga, becoming certified as an Etiquette Consultant, and established The CHARMED Agency, LLC Etiquette Training & Events. CHARMED stands for changing how adolescents reach and meet evolutionary demands. She continues to teach exceptional children during the day, and etiquette in the evenings and on the weekends.
